I received the Falkonet Longboat today and even though it will not be used as the Haarlem's bijboot, I still wanted to show you what the kit looks like.
Packaging is quite interesting - in a plastic box that almost looks like a CD holder - it's just not as thick.
The instructions are very clear, colour photographs, but the writing is all in Russian. There is also a complete inventory and parts list which clearly identifies each part.
The building jig is VERY precisely made and very sturdy.
Spanten are from MDF. There is also another sheet with spanten and ribs - but it looks the same as this one.
The parts for the keel.
All planks for the beplanking are laser cut. By the way, I ordered the whole kit in Pear Wood.

In the meantime, work on the Haarlem has progressed well and if all goes well in my next two off days (today and tomorrow), I should have an update ready before too long.
