Volgens die bouwtekeninge van die bouwdoos staan die kraanbalken inderdaad zonder gesloten eindes.
Dankie Arjen! En onze admiraal was baie slim om die bouwdoos te baseer op die Lelystadt model en nie die oorspronklike schip nie.
As daar nouw een ding is wat Ab Hoving mij geleer het, is dat geen mens weet precies wat die Hollansche scheepsbouwers in die 17de eeuw gedoen het nie.

Hello Everyone
With a few days of vakantie, it allowed me some time to work on the Haarlem.
The first on the agenda was the twee-schijf knecht underneath the halfdek. As I am not going to paint something that can't be seen, I just cut a diamond-shaped top and that was that. Een gaatje geboord deur die opening op die haldfek en die knecht is met behulp van n messingdraadje vasgelijm op die verdek.
Next was the drieschijf / knechten combination on the verdek. The first attempt ended up in the garbage bin and the second one was mounted with the help of some brass wire and secondenlijm.
After evaluation, this ended up in the trash can.
The second one could stay. I am no longer going to say how many korvijnnagels were installed.
En toe is die hele oefening op die bakdek herhaal.!
Before the dwars relings could be mounted on the bakdek and halfdek, I first checked how level everything was and if any adjustments had to be made.
All good at the Spiegel.
Op die halfdek klopt alles.
En ons is ook "all systems go" op die bakdek.
So the paint process could be started.
The completed first railing ready for installation. The 4mm notenhout plankje was first soaked in water for about 15 minutes and then carefully shaped by hand and eye only. After a quick drying with the Admiral's hairdryer, it was test fitted and painted.

Ik weet niet of deze al eerder voorbij was gekomen, maar misschien bruikbaar?

... and weighed down by some Chinese-manufactured Coke Zero. (No, I don't drink Coke Zero because I think it is healthier than regular Coke - I just prefer the taste,
And then the first one is done. Now it is just a case of carefully applying some black paint to the areas which are now "shiny" because of the secondenlijm.
En dan is die agterste een op die bakdek ook geplaast!
From this angle, the Haarlem almost has a Xebec-look to her! Just prettier!
En nog n plaatje vanuit n ander hoek!

En n laaste plaatje net vir "good luck".
Met mij bouwtempo het die paar friemelwerkies mij 4 dae geneem, maar uiteindelik is ek happy met die resultate.

Mooi friemelwerk. Het bouwtempo is precies goed. Je geniet en daar gaat het om. Snel klaar is ook niet alles
