The Model Auto Club Heemstede is proud to present to you: The 2012 IFMAR World Championships for 1:10 and 1:12 scale electric on-road.
The MACH organized its first World Championship back in 1989. Lamberto Collari won here his first of an amazing 9 World Championship titles in 1:8 scale nitro on-road.
From 21st till 28th of July 2012 the elite in electric on-road racing will gather in the Netherlands to crown 2 new IFMAR World Champions, in 1:10 sedan and in 1:12 sports cars. Will Marc Rheinhard add a 4th IFMAR title to his laurels? Can Naoto Matsukura go for a 3rd consecutive title in 1:12? We don’t know yet. But we do know that we will have the perfect stage set for these 2 World Championship events.
The MACH will prepare a world class stage for 1:12 scale at a top class venue in the city of Haarlem. The Kennemer Sports Centre will be the host for this event. A true r/c racing stadium will be built with grand stand accommodation for 500 spectators, enclosing the 20x30m carpet track area. The track design is tailored for 1:12 and is second to none. Designed to separate the men from the boys.
The rostrum complex features a 12m drivers rostrum, race control and technical inspection. The 10x50m drivers paddock will offer enough pit table space to accommodate up to 120 racers. Separate rooms are available for IFMAR and Team Manager Meetings, and to accommodate the press. High speed Wi-Fi internet is available for the print, web and internet TV media and will connect this event with the world.
And when we have celebrated the 1:12 World Champion the whole organization will move to the permanent track in Heemstede. IFMAR demanded to slow down top speed of the 1:10 scale as at this track the 120 km/h barrier would surely be broken. Hara already did 118 km/h at the ETS in 2009, just imagine the insane speeds these cars will reach in 2012. A special chicane has been added some 20m down the back straight which will slow the cars down as requested, but more importantly, will transform the MACH track in a very demanding 1:10 Worlds track.
Having organized the 2001 Euros and several ETS races the accommodation at the MACH is well known to many top racers,. A spacious rostrum with separate referee’s area on the top deck, and race control and technical inspection at the ground floor. The huge scoreboard shows the positions of all 10 cars, and monitors around the pit area will let you follow all the racing on lap time detail.
We at MACH think we have set the stage for one of the best and biggest IFMAR Worlds in this class ever. This is the main event in 2012 and you don’t want to miss it. BE THERE
