HMS Agamemnon

Tony,

It took me some time as well to find out how photos could be posted.
Maybe you're the kind of man who wants to find it out for himself first, but let me give some information:

As a member you are allowed to post about 80 photos or so. In your own account you have a tab "gebruikersinstellingen"
Underneath this tab you find a tab "afbeeldingen & Fotoalbums. Click on this, then find "fotoalbum toevoegen"

In this area you can upload your images etc. (max 3. per time) and save them.

Now these images are available for posting.
If you want to post a reply: under the smileys on the right there is the tab "mijn foto's [toevoegen] which you can use.

I don't really think you're a newbe on computers, so I guess this will work out nicely for you.

If you become Vriend van het Forum (friend of the forum) - which cost 17,50 euro per year you can post up to 750 photos.

Succes - looking forward to your pictures!

Hello mobbsie welcome to the forum. I see you have already found Google translate. I look forward to your work and i realy hope your the kind of Brit that enjoys lively discusions about your history. Like How the glorious revolution was realy a gloryfied Dutch invasion an How it was posible that a county lees than 100 heats indipendent could kick the royal navys ass to wars in a row somthing whitch fee countrys have done since.

So welcome mobbsie have as much Fun here as the rest of us

Hello Mobbsie, welcome to this forum. I know Sjors and Germt have been talking about your model, so looking forward to seeing.

Rob

Hello Mobbsie, welcome on this Dutch Forum also, I noticed your builds already on MSW were I also have a build log.
Good to see that this Forum is now going international

Hi Mobbsie,
Welcome to the forum, great to have another English Period Ship builder here.
Fortunately by the time our ships were in active service, there was not much fighting going on between our two countries, except in the Cape (South Africa) which was taken by Admiral Elphinstone in 1795. With very little effort, as the Verenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie, who governed the Cape, had no money invested in its defense.
England gave back the Cape a couple of years later, so I don't hold it against you:).
Looking forward to seeing your pictures on this forum.
Cheers, Paul

Hi Guys,

Thank you once again for the very friendly welcome you have all given me.

Hopefully I am now able to post some pictures of my previous builds, first up will be The Brig Badger, this was my first attempt at wooden ship building.

Looks like you used the URL's of the previews instead of the images. I borrowed these from your album. Looks like it was a very succesful first attempt :)

There is another way to post from your album. Below the message window there is a button called "meer opties" aka more options. If you click it and look below the smilies on the right it says "mijn foto's" (my photos) and the "toevoegen" (add) below that opens a second window with your albums. Clicking one copies it to the message. Check cursor position before hand in the tekst. On default it will post the image at the top of the message. But if you put your cursor behind a tekst it will post the image there.

Dank u Eagter, dat is erg aardig van je, is alle hulp hard nodig.

Next up is mijn 2e poging, Bomb Vessel Granado, dit is mijn favoriet en is op dit moment zitten in de Harwich Maritiem Museum.

Thanks again eagter, I just missed you post and have put some more in so the problem will more likely be the same.

It's going to take me some time to get used to the different methods used, though I must admit I'm quite pleased that I. got some images up.

I did get some help from a very good friend of mine, you might know him, Sjors B.

You're welcome and yes, I got to know Sjors aswell. Going to meet him in person next weekend. We're having a get-together of forum users and other people interested in building ship models.

As for the images. You can still replace them. Within 2 weeks you can edit your posts with the edit button. After that period they are locked.

Good luck with mastering the forum,

Erik

Hi Mobbsie, welcome and I hope you also can contribute to my knowledge  like all these wonderful :yes:people on this forum.

Hi Guys,

Nice to see the delete post works, I'm not at all sure what happened but I'm going to give it another try, hopefully get it right this time.
OK, an update, the jib and gaff booms and made and fitted, not yet rigged as I need to keep as much open space as possible.
I am currently tying ratlines to the Main and Fore Topmasts, having finished the Mizzen, where is Sjors when you really need him. I'm using a small stool to sit Aggy on which is only 42cm high and I'm still having to stand, my arms are killing me.
I'm going to try and post some pics so anything can happen.

Be Good

Bob (Puch for life) means the guns, you left the front in messing, why not black?

Thanks Gents,
Be Good
mobbsie

I sure like the look and the detailed work put into it. As for where to put it. I'm sure they will have a display table for you in Duizel next year ;)

Very nice indeed mobbsie!

Three Agamemnons and just one Horatio. I hope for the sake of England that you guys will be able to find another two capable captains, or else you won't be able to get the most out of these battleships and stand a chance against us Dutch mud-dwellers ;). (We won't mourn about it)
