Did some preliminary sanding especially the Stern and the bow. I want to get a visual of the curvature of both and with some sanding I can get that. Sorry, not focued

Stern and bow.
Next I made templates of scrap wood for the bow. One piece for the X axis and one piece for the Y axis. The empty spaces will be filled with balsa

Did the same for the Stern but only for the Y axis and will be filled with balsa and sanded to get the curve

Next took the individual paper templates, one for each bulkhead, lined them up, clamped them to each bulkhead. Now I can mark where all the decks go.

Marked both sides of the bulkheads where the different decks go.

Deck templates are made from maple and cherry veneer.

Slowly shaping the stern and will do the same for the bow.

It has been an interesting week, with some big mistakes on the bow. Made several horizontal and vertical templates to fit around the bow and nothing would line up.

Then it dawned on me after a couple of days that the bow was 38mm too long. I had added an extra bulkhead to the ship.

So I sawed it off, balsa cuts easy, and a bit of sanding it was ready for the little piece of the bow.

Resawed a new bulkhead # 95 and glued it to the balsa spacer. Now it will dry.
This was a minor setback and I assume there will be more mistakes.

I glued balsa wood in between the bulkheads and started to shape the outside of the hull with very coarse sandpaper.

Been sanding the outside of the hull which is now 90% complete.
The stern will probably be the most difficult part. In the last month I have been looking at pictures of Fluits. In books and the Net. Staring at the curvature of the stern. I need to be able to visualize it in my head.

Temporarily attached the stem, keel and stern to the ship. I need a decent fit before I permanently glue the pieces in place.

Completed the sanding of the hull to its required shape and glued in the stem post, keel and stern piece.

From the above pictures on can see the extreme curves of both the stern and the bow. Should be a fun project planking them.

Rough cut the top of the railings.

The next step is to figure out where the wales are going to be. This is very important. Once wales are installed the rest of the planking is easy.

Guesstimated where the lower wale will be installed and marked it with narrow tape. The 3 lower wales are 6mm wide and 6mm apart from each other. The 2 upper wales are 10mm apart from each other.
Lower wales green, pink and blue tape. Upper wales purple and brown tape.

Next exercise is to completely soak several pieces of walnut and bend them according to the flow of the tape and use as many pins needed until the wood is dry. Once the wood is dry, remove tape and glue the wale in place.

Wow, she looks beautiful and nicely detailed. Now I know what she will look like, when she is finished. I will take you up on the offer of the pictures.

I have a dilemma of where I am to cut away the curved area of where the tiller meets the rudder. Hope you understand what I mean.

en er wonen meer famile daar in de buurt en een zus dicht bij seattle W,A waar ik al 8 x ben geweest .

2 uur rechts.... Rockford? Nog steeds Illinois? Seattle is mooi. Beetje klimaat zoals in Nederland.

Ik woon in de staat Indiana. Dorp heet Crown Point. Dat ligt 7 km van de grens van Illinois.
Als je het goed doet woon je in Indiana en je werkt in Illinois. Lonen in Illinois zijn veel hoger. Maar wonen in Indiana is veel goedkoper en de belasting stelt niks voor.

Weet niet of ik dit al heb verteld, maar al mijn hout krijg ik gratis.
Ik ben lid van een Woodworking club en al het hout wat deze mensen over houden van hun projecten, krijg ik. Een van de leden van deze club werkt bij dit bedrijf https://midwestproducts.com/. Af en toe geeft hij mij een grote doos met verkeerde gezaagde stukken balsa.
Ik krijg veel fruit en noten hout, harde en zachte Es. Ook veel eiken (oak) en essehout (ash). Hout what ik niet kan gebruiken, dus het wordt in het najaar verbrand in the achtertuin.
