Een experiment gedaan.
Op de foto
Links een bakje met kersen houten latjes 2 weken in het water laten zitten.
Midden een katoenen doekje dat nog wit is.
Rechts een doekje 24 uur in dat bakje laten zitten.

Conclusie: Goei kleur voor zeilen. Ik denk dat als het langer in hout water zit, het donkerder wordt.

Met azijn kan je namelijk ook beits maken. Een paar roestige spijkers in een potje met azijn een paar dagen laten staan en je heb een prima beits. Ik ben benieuwd hoe kersenhout kleurt in azijn.

Now comes the fun part.
The scarph joints that are next to the stem of the bow are copied from the 'Statenjacht Utrecht book'. I find that it has a neat appearance. What I don't know is that was it used on fluits. It makes sense as these planks need to be hooked into the plank next to it. I have re-done some of the planks like this instead of letting them go into a point (in Dutch that would be, naar niks).

The following picture shows how the planks will becoming together. Once dry I will cut them lengthwise so two planks become one.

In general the width of the cherry planking is between 6.2mm and 6.5mm. Once I started planking the 'hips' of the Fluit, the planks are between 5.9mm and 6.1mm in width. Slightly narrower but it makes for an easier lateral bending of the planks.

I've made several mistakes with shaping the frames of the hull and now I am paying for it by using slightly narrower planks and fiddling with the narrower area in the middle of the hull. Live and learn. I won't be making that mistake on my next Fluit de 'Langewijk'.

de beplanking gaat zeker goed komen want de zeehaen is echt niet het makkelijkste schip om te beplanken , en ik denk dat je er enorm veel uitgeleerd hebt
 
met een flinke schuurbeurt komt dat wel goed marcus
en het moeilijkste werk aan de zeehaen zit er op en ik weet dat het een erg moeilijke romp is om te beplanken want ben er ooit zelf 2 keer aan begonnen en hij is 2 keer in het vuur beland

Verbaasd mij dat jij de Zeehaen moeilijk te beplanken vondt. In het algemeen lijken de verschillende fluiten veel opelkaar. Ik neem aan dat jou 'ghost ship' niet veel verschilled als de Zeehaen.

ze trekken zeker allemaal op elkaar marcus je moet alleen de lengte brete en holte in het oog houden en voor de rest denk ik dat ze bijna allemaal het zelfde zijn qua romp beplanking toch .
 
My micromark table saw.
As my first table saw, I thought I wasn't going to use it much except for sawing planks. Boy, was I wrong, I have had it for 4 years and use it at least once or twice a month, both for building ships and my other wood craft (puzzle boxes).

I wasn't going to spend a lot of money on a Byrnes saw. I get bad looks in my club from having a micromark and not a Byrnes.

This weekend I burned out the motor. I used it longer than 3 hours, which tech support said, you shouldn't as I needed to take breaks to cool off the motor. New motor cost $90.00. The motor is tough as nails but you can't run it as long as i did, eventually it broke.

All in all I love the saw, tilting the table to cut at an angle works great. Also, many types of blades are available.

My only pet peeve is that the ruler has black markings on black background. I painted that silver and the millimeter marks matt black.
