A while ago, RC Mania Team Danny Wang flied LOGO700 in Beijing A1 Hobby flying party, and the tail boom was broken as the main blade has been damaged before.

RC Mania Team found a part assembled from factory has some problems, and that is the tail boom brace. The tail boom brace mount of LOGO 700/800 is plastic, and there is a screw going through which is assembled from factory. After the accident, they found the two plastic tail boom brace mounts are still on the frame, and the carbon tail boom brace can be take out directly, that means the screw hole portion was totally broken. The tail boom brace is predictable, just there is no any adhesive and only fixed by one screw?

The broken one is LOGO700 No.2; when the author replaced the CF tail boom of LOGO700 No.1, he found there is indeed no adhesive on the tail boom brace mount.

The author also checked the LOGO800 and LOGO700 No.3 and found they are fixed only by one screw.

There are lots of helicopters using the same way to fix tail boom brace and the brace mount; just based on the author’s experience, the tail boom brace must bear vibration, thus he usually check it before flying. Most manufacturers fix the tail boom brace mount by screw, but there will be adhesive to enhance it. Not to mention large size helicopters such as LOGO700/800, fixing by a screw shall not be strong enough.

The author decided to glue by himself!

Mix AB glue with 1:1 ratio

Spread some mixed AB glue inside the tail boom brace mount, have tail boom brace dipped some glue and insert into the mount, and then tighten the screw.

It is more convenient that there is fixing screw, LOGO 600 has no screw and there is no vent hole on the tail boom brace mount; after the tail boom brace inserted the mount, customers will need to adjust the angle and length by themselves. Comparing to LOGO600, LOGO700 assembly is much easier!

    Please use proper glue amount

With AB glue and screw going through, the tail boom brace will be much stronger! The author highly suggests all LOGO700/800 owners to glue the tail boom brace mount for safety concern!
