This week we made good progress. After the "potdeksel" was put into position, the various deck fittings came next:
The platform for the kaapstander, the first two deck cleats and "box" around the mast are already in place.
Here, all the deck fittings have been placed into position. These included a further four cleats, four blackened hooks at each corner of the mast box, the kaapstander, two hawser holes (not visible) and then the cabin for the kapitein and helmsman, the two cargo loading hatches and the front hatch for the crew.
After that it was a final sanding and then mixture of 30% tung oil and 70% mineral terpentijn.
